1969 Camaro SS – Exterior Detail and Paint Correction

This black ‘69 Camaro SS came in with a supercharged setup and a lot of power behind it, but the paint needed help. It had some age to it. Swirls, hazing, and general wear that took away from the overall look. The owner wanted it cleaned up and brought back to life without going too crazy, so we went with our full exterior detail and a solid two-step correction.

We started by getting it fully rinsed and foamed to break down any surface grime. Gave it a thorough hand wash after that, cleaned up the wheels and tires, and made sure everything was stripped down and prepped for correction. We clayed the whole car by hand to get rid of any leftover contamination and make sure the paint was smooth and ready.

From there, we moved into the correction work. First pass was a heavier cut to remove the deeper stuff, then we followed it with a polish to clean everything up and bring back that depth and clarity. Took time on this one. Black paint shows everything, and with the age of the car we wanted to be as clean and consistent as possible across each panel.

Once everything was dialed in, we sealed it and gave it a final wipe down. The finish looked deep and clean again, and the car had a totally different presence when it rolled out. It’s always cool seeing something classic get that kind of reset, especially when the end result speaks for itself.
